Emenike Concludes a £5.5m-A-Year Summer Deal In China
West Ham’s Nigerian striker Emmanuel Emenike could be on his way to China for a lucrative deal at the end of the season.
China is the new haven for football stars, the country’s rich top flight recently attracting Ramires from Chelsea and Jackson Martinez from Atletico Madrid in big money moves.
The Mirror says the former Super Eagles star, who only joined West Ham on loan in January, remains a target for Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.
The 28-year-old reportedly rejected interest from the China before agreeing to join the Hammers on loan from Fenerbahce last month.
Shenhua are understood to have had an offer worth £5.5million-a-year on the table for the marksman who scrapped his loan deal at UAE club Al Ain to move to England.
The Chinese Super League outfit have since expressed an interest in Chelsea striker Loic Remy but the Blues are understood to be unwilling to release him due to their lack of options.
As a result Shenhua are ready to return for Emenike’s services in the summer. The player remains under contract to Fenerbahce until June 2017.
