Chile 2015: Obuh Affirms Eaglets Abilities to Beat USA
Former Golden Eaglets coach, John Obuh, has tipped the current squad to beat the United States of America in their first game at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile on Saturday.
Obuh, in a chat with Brila FM, posited that their results in some of the friendly games will give them the edge.
"We need to give them all the necessary support. And judging by their performances in some of the warm-up games they played, I believe they have what it takes to beat USA.
"I think when it comes to the U-17 World Cup, the USA are not that a big team. So I believe the Eaglets will emerge victorious," Obuh said.
Obuh, who led the Nigerian youngsters to a second-place finish on home soil six years ago, went on to stress the importance of them winning the first game.
"They need to be focus especially in the first game because it is very important to get off to a winning start. If they get a win against USA, it will give them the morale boost in subsequent games."
