Enyimba FC Men Off To Uganda For Friday’s Vipers Champions League Clash

The two-time CAF Champions League winners, Enyimba FC of Aba, will begin their quest for a third title in the continent’s premier club championship when they face Vipers FC of Uganda on Friday. The People’s Elephant will depart the shores of Nigeria by tomorrow, tuesday, aboard an Ethiopian Airline plane. Enyimba, winners of the Nigerian top flight seven times, will make the trip through the Enugu International Airport. “The flight is scheduled to take off at 1pm and the team will be conveyed by Ethiopian Airline,” according to Enyimba Chairman, Chief Felix Anyansi Agwu, an executive committee member of the Nigeria Football Federation. Enyimba defender, Uwadiegwu Ugwu, enthused that the People’s Elephant will take the game seriously as if that is the only game to play before moving to the next stage. “We’ve prepared well for this competition and we know the seriousness or importance of the game,” Ugwu declared. “Yes, it is the first leg but a good result is all we need because every team is very strong these days.” In the other CAF Champions League preliminary round match, the second Nigeria representatives, Warri Wolves, will host Club Praia of Sao Tome & Principe on Sunday in Warri. The Sao Tome club are expected in Nigeria on Thursday. “The match will take place in Warri on Sunday. We’re expecting them on Thursday going by the communication we got from them,” Warri Wolves spokesman Azuka Chiamaka said.
